This confusion often stems from the misconception that Cosmetology covers everything equally, but the focus is primarily on hair.
In Kentucky, each specialty has distinct licensing requirements:
- Cosmetology: 1,500 hours
- Nail Technology: 450 hours
- Esthetics: 750 hours
- Eyelash Extensions: 18 hours
- Shampoo & Styling: 300 hours
