STUDENT LIVE VOLUNTEER PRACTICES – Hair Cares, Skin Cares and Nail Cares – BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

You Are Here Because You Want to Help Students Learn

Welcome to Louisville Beauty Academy, a Kentucky State-Licensed Beauty College, not a commercial salon.
By visiting this page or scheduling an appointment, you are joining our educational mission — helping students practice their craft, build confidence, and prepare for their Kentucky State Licensing Examinations.

When you schedule, you are not a customer, but a Live Volunteer Model supporting future licensed professionals.
Your participation provides students with essential, hands-on learning experience under licensed instructor supervision — the same type of live clinical practice that helps them pass the Kentucky State Board exam.

❤️ Why Your Participation Matters

Louisville Beauty Academy exists to train and educate, not to sell services.
All practice sessions occur in a clinical training environment under the supervision of licensed instructors.
Your contribution helps provide safe, sanitary, and high-quality learning conditions for all students.

By volunteering, you help students:

  • Practice techniques on real people in a controlled educational setting.
  • Apply theory and safety training to live supervised practice.
  • Gain the confidence and precision needed for Kentucky state licensure.

All participation is voluntary.
Fees listed below are not for services rendered, but rather contributions toward product materials and supervision costs required to run an educational clinic.

🧾 Important Information

  • All practice sessions are by appointment only, approved by instructors based on student readiness.
  • Results, timing, and product choices may vary as part of the learning process.
  • Students and volunteer models both participate voluntarily.
  • All work is performed for educational purposes only, never commercial profit.
  • Fees support materials, sanitation, and administrative supervision, never student wages.

ALL SERVICES ARE PERFORMED BY STUDENTS IN TRAINING UNDER SUPERVISION FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE ONLY

⚖️ COMPLIANCE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE NOTICE

Louisville Beauty Academy (LBA) operates strictly under the authority of the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology in full compliance with:

  • KRS Chapter 317A – Statutes governing licensed beauty schools in Kentucky;
  • KRS 317A.090 – Requires schools to maintain adequate materials, facilities, and qualified instructors;
  • 201 KAR 12:082 – Establishes curriculum and limits instructional credit to no more than 8 hours per day;
  • 201 KAR 12:030 – Defines that the Kentucky State Board practical exam is performed on mannequin heads and hands, affirming mannequin and supervised model work as valid educational practice.

No law requires beauty students to serve paying members of the public.
“Clinic and practice hours” may be fulfilled entirely through mannequin, model, or peer practice under instructor supervision.

Consistent with federal precedent (Walling v. Portland Terminal Co., 330 U.S. 148 (1947)), beauty-college students are trainees, not employees.
All live volunteer practice sessions are conducted solely for educational training, and any contributions received are used only to cover product, sanitation, and administrative supervision costs, not wages or profit.

Louisville Beauty Academy proudly distinguishes itself as Kentucky’s Model of Legal Compliance, Educational Integrity, and Licensing Excellence — focusing on student learning, theory mastery, and state exam readiness first.

Public participation as volunteer models is always optional, appreciated, and conducted safely under licensed instructor supervision.
