Evidence Before Claims: What Kentucky’s Public Exam Reports Show About LBA

Evidence should be visible, understandable, and open to correction. Louisville Beauty Academy reviewed the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology’s downloadable school workbooks covering 2023 through the incomplete 2026 reporting year. This article presents what the records show, what they do not show, and where readers can verify the source.

What the 2023–2026 year-to-date records show

  • #1 in language-designated exam activity: 232 exam events; first among 11 schools with qualifying language-designated rows.
  • #1 in retake exam activity: 246 exam events; first among 44 schools with qualifying retake rows.
  • #1 in language-designated retake activity: 84 exam events; first among 8 schools with qualifying language-designated retake rows.
  • #2 in total exam activity: 801 exam events; second among 45 schools with qualifying rows.

Evidence cutoff: October 8, 2026. The KBC page exposed 48 downloadable workbook links; all 48 current files were reviewed. The 2026 reporting year is incomplete.

Read the numbers accurately

An exam event is an attempt—not a unique student, graduate, license, job, or income outcome. One person may account for more than one event. The categories overlap and must not be added together. These are LBA’s reproducible rankings within the defined KBC report set; they are not rankings issued or endorsed by the Kentucky Board of Cosmetology.

These activity counts do not establish a person-level pass rate, eventual passage, school quality, employment, income, or guaranteed result. KBC controls its source files and may revise them. If a source changes, the comparison should be rerun.

Resilience in action

The record includes 246 retake exam events. The evidence proves repeat exam activity; it does not reveal the identity, timing, or eventual outcome of each person. LBA’s educational interpretation is simple: preparation matters, setbacks can become feedback, and another well-prepared attempt can be an act of resilience.

YES I CAN → I HAVE DONE IT → YES, YOU WILL.

Prepare. Learn. Return. Keep moving.

Make education choices with the full numbers in front of you

Every prospective student should compare the total program price, schedule, attendance expectations, payment obligations, licensing requirements, student support, and the written terms of any incentive. At LBA, every student may choose whether to pursue optional tuition-discount opportunities. Depending on the selected program and its controlling written terms, an eligible student may earn a 50%–75% tuition discount by fulfilling the stated requirements.

Participation is optional, and the discount must be earned. The signed student contract controls participation, amount, schedule, final cost, and payment terms. Before signing, ask to see the full price, the exact potential discount for your program, the requirements to earn and retain it, and the amount owed with and without the discount. Enrollment, completion, exam passage, licensure, employment, income, and debt-free completion are not guaranteed.
